We took a trip to visit some of our favorite friends in Colorado. We were fortunate enough to fly this time. The kids are having a great time and spending most of it outside. Halie and Jax just treasure their time together and Camo and Austin are developing their friendship. Megan is having a blast visiting with Luke and mixing it up a little with the big kids.
The weather has been amazing and has been a mix of warm with cooler at times and an afternoon shower. Perfect!
Day 1: After we got home from the airport the kids spent the day mostly playing outside. Sarah and I did grocery store runs and just enjoyed catching up.
Day 2: More playing outside. Here are the boys climbing trees
We took our first hike this trip and Megan's first on foot.
It was very flat and not far but she still required dads shoulders at times. Love the view of the mountains, makes me remember my childhood in CA and the mountains there.
Our destination
The big kids did a little climbing.
Always time for a snack.
During the afternoon we spent some time at the outlet mall and then that night we had dinner with the Fernihoughs and enjoyed s'mores for dessert. Meg really enjoyed it!!
Day 3: On Friday we wanted to have a little birthday party and celebrate all their birthdays together. We decided to take them out for pizza, play putt-putt, and then come home for cupcakes.
We sang one song, with all five names, and then they dug in. Fun memories!
Day 4: On Saturday we decided to take some adventures into Colorado Springs. We visited the Cave Dwellings from ancient times. The kids were able to run through the caves that use to be homes for these people.
After lunch we drove over to the Garden of the Gods, which is massive rock structures sticking out of the ground. We saw many rock climbers trying to tackle the rocks. There was a small opening in one rock so the kids took turns squeezing through.
Just beautiful!
Michael thought this one looked like two hands praising up.
A few pictures of Megan and baby Luke!
Our final morning, as we headed back that afternoon, but not before we took a picture to mark the celebration of our 13th wedding Anniversary.
Headed to Big D!
