Emi's Birthday Celebration

The Estes Crew came in town for the Easter weekend and to celebrate Emily's birthday.  Instead of a big friend party Emily wanted to go to the American Girl Doll store and have lunch and hopefully have enough money from her gifts to get a new doll.  Megan has been so excited to get to take her baby doll to the store to have lunch.  We arrive at the AGD store at the Galleria and it's like the Disney World of doll stores.  We went upstairs to have lunch at the cafe.  We were seated in a nice booth and both dolls, Emily's Grace and Megan's Rosy,  are seated by our host in high chairs.  Our drink orders are taken and both dolls receive a cup and saucer, which the girls get to take home.  The atmosphere was pleasant and reminded us of the old, quaint department store cafe with the soft pink colors, soda shop drinks and fancy lighting.  The food was good and plenty for all of us.  Emily received her gifts and it was time to shop.  She selected the doll she had been wanting, along with a few accessory packs, and still was able to have the doll's ear's pierced.  She had a wonderful time and it was so enjoyable to get to have a girl day together to celebrate her.  I do have to take a moment and brag on my special 4 year old.  In the mist of doll heaven she contained herself and didn't ask for much at all.  All she wanted was for Rosy to get her ears pierced.  Since she isn't an AGD they couldn't.  We bought her a few baby accessories, like bottles and baby food, as a little gift to her.  I'm sure there will be a day when she is ready to have such a fancy doll.
